Two dead from possible drug overdose in Peachtree City

PEACHTREE CITY, GA (CBS46) -

Peachtree City police are investigating the death of two men on Tuesday.

Joey Corvino Jr., 24, of Peachtree City and Richard Deraney Jr., 26, of Fayetteville were both found unresponsive at a house on Clifton Lane around 10:00 a.m.

CPR was initiated by a family member as well as the responding police officers.

They were both taken to Fayette Piedmont Hospital where they were later pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Corvino and Deraney possibly suffered from a fatal drug overdose; however, the investigation is still ongoing.

Their bodies were taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for autopsies to determine the cause or causes of death.

As a part of the death investigation, officers searched the residence and found several drug related items and building code violations.

Timothy Ruberg, Andrea Ruberg, Benjamin Ruberg, Chelsea Markowitz, Sarah Ruberg, all of Clifton Lane, Peachtree City were given citations for possession of marijuana less one ounce. Ruberg was also issued a citation for obstruction of an officer.

Fayette County Animal Control has been asked to investigate the living conditions of the various animals that were located in the house.

Peachtree City Police Code Enforcement Officers responded and issued a “Notice of Violation” for multiple building code violations.

Things To Do In Peachtree City Georgia

There is a large city located in the state of Georgia called Peachtree City, a place that you may have never heard of. It is located in Lafayette County, and is actually the largest city in the county with about 35,000 people. It is located southwest of Atlanta, and if you happen to travel into this area, you might want to consider stopping there for a while. Here are a few ideas that you should consider if you decide to go to Peachtree City for a couple days two relax in the state of Georgia.

Where You Can Go Shopping

One of the best places that you can go shopping is called The Avenue Peachtree City. There are many shops that you can see, and places to drink coffee, making your time worthwhile. If you one to find comic books, you can find what you need at First Edition Comics. Once you are done shopping, you might want to consider some outdoor activities.

Outdoor Activities

There is a place called Golf Cart Paths which is a serene little area. If you want to play a little golf, you can go to the Peachtree City Golf Cars where you can rent golf carts to drive around. As far as landmarks go, there is Lake Peachtree which is something that is very beautiful. It’s actually the place where people go if they want to see an excellent sunset. Finally, go to the Flat Creek Nature Area where you can walk across the boardwalk which will go over the marshy beautiful region.

These are just a couple of ideas to consider if you do get to go to Peachtree City in Georgia. It is just a few minutes away from Atlanta, and if you want to get away from the city, this is the place that you need to be.
