The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a tornado watch for Gwinnett County and much of north Georgia until 6 p.m. today.
A strong line of storms is moving east from Dalton to Adairsville.
A flash flood watch also remains in effect as showers and thunderstorms increase across north and central Georgia.
Forecasters say some storms could be strong to sever, capable of damaging winds, large hail and possible tornados. Locally heavy rain could result in possible flash flooding.
